LOAD 513 Challenge -- Day 1

Today was the first day of the LOAD 513 Challenge. The theme this month is the game Clue.  Today's prompt was Mrs. White.
In Lain's video today, she mentioned white sheets and that made me think of my Mom and her hanging sheets and blankets on the clothes line on our farm as I was growing up.  I decided to use a picture of my Mom and me shortly after I was born and so I went in search of a printable that showed clothes on the line and found this cute pic and used it as well.  I created the sheet out of a sheet of pearl white card stock, just hand formed and pulled a few clothespins out of my stash of embellishments.  I hope you like it. It is simple, but I'm pretty happy with it.

So over the last couple of days, I've been doing a little scrapping and I thought I'd share the results with you.

This page is about my love of music and is going in my Book of  Me.  It includes a picture that is a blast from the past, 1984 to be exact.  It features my dog at the time Smokey, a wonderful great dane.  Unfortunately, Smokey is no longer with us but I digress. This pic also features the console tv and the stereo on which I played all those 45s and 78s long before there was cds and mp3s.  The journaling is tucked in the envelope and on the back I've placed a cd envelope with the songs that I played so much. 

I really like how the record layout turned out, sweet and simple.

LOAD - Layout A Day Challenge

I just wanted to share that I'm participating in LOAD513 during May.  I've become quite the fan of Lain Ehmann.  She does great video scrapbooking tips and once a month hosts a great webinar called Scrapbook Improv.  If you haven't heard about Lain, please visit her blog/website at http://www.layoutaday.com.

Now back to LOAD513!  LOAD513 is a month long challenge in which Lain sends out a prompt daily from which each participant creates a scrapbook layout from and posts it to the LOAD513 Flickr gallery.  Lain gives away so nice prizes along the way and everyone who completes the challenge gets entered into a drawing for the GRAND PRIZE at the end.

Although I've never participated in LOAD before, I'm really looking forward to being challenged and to completing a layout each day.

I'll post my layouts here for all of you to see.  Anyone who might want to take the challenge too, sign up by tomorrow, April 30th at LOAD513.
