Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm so grateful for some many things: my family, my relatively good health, my job,
my friends, being born and raised and living in the USA, my faith and so much more.

I'm also extremely grateful to and for you, my readers.
Whether you stop in often or just occasionally, I'm thankful for all the comments
and followers and appreciate your being here with me on this journey.

May you have a blessed and safe holiday season.

Holiday Style Class: More Cute & Whimsical Cards

So I got to playing with masking and ink blending and some cute stamps
by Paper Smooches and came up with a couple of cute and whimsical cards.

I really love the simplicity of the stacked black and white animals against the blue background.
I used Ranger Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass and Broken China.

The larger and medium snowflakes are from the Stamp of Approval Holiday box
and the tiny ones are from Lawn Fawn.

I created glitter paper for the snowflakes, by covering a piece of cardstock with Versa Mark and
sprinkling on Stampin' Up Irridescent Ice embossing powder and heat setting.  I then just ran it through my Sizzix Big Kick with my dies.

The scripty sentiment is by Lawn Fawn.

These little moose are from the same Chubby Chums Pals set by Paper Smooches.
More ink blending using Seedless Preserves, Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire.

I used Glossy Accents to add a few extra "snowflakes" too.

The snowflakes are created from the same die sets and homemade glitter paper as above.

Holiday Style Class: Soft & Subtle

When I think soft and subtle, I think monochromatic for some reason.
So I've created two blue and white cards for this lesson.

The first one could probably also fit in the elegant class.

I used Delicata Silver ink for the stamping and blended it onto the mat piece using a
Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool.

The stamped piece was set with WOW clear embossing powder.
The blue ink blending is Ranger Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers, Broken China and Tumbled Glass.

For this one, I used a watercolor smooshing technique to create the background over the white
heat embossed tree and sentiment.
I used Ranger Distress Inks in Hickory Smoke, Broken China and Tumbled Glass.

I then stamped the ornaments and the star.
The ornaments are stamped in Memento ink, sorry I can't remember the color.
The star is stamped in Delicata Silver and set with Ranger Platinum embossing powder.

Holiday Style Class: Shimmer & Shine

These first two cards were created based on a video that Jennifer McGuire did on her
YouTube channel a few weeks ago.  It was a faux metal technique.

I love how they turned out.

This one was create based on a challenge on StampNation.

I used Delicata Gold ink and a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to blend the ink onto the card front.
I used the same ink in silver as well for the ornaments and bows.
All the ink was set with WOW clear embossing powder.

Give Thanks Blog Hop

Welcome to the

Today's hop is sponsored by

Today's hop is full of great projects all about Thanksgiving and being thankful.
So let's get hopping!

I had a blast creating this card for you today.
I used Versa Mark ink and Pearl Ex and Perfect Pearl powders to create
this awesome Thanksgiving card.
I just love the shimmer and shine the powders give to the leaves.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Don't forget to leave a comment, we love feedback.

Today's hop line-up:

Online Card Classes: Holiday Style Lesson 3

Lesson 3 Whimsical Cards

This card required a bit of masking and a little fudging too.
I colored the snowman with Copic Markers and used Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress Ink to add the sky.
I used Pistachio Memento Ink for the trees. The ornaments that the snowman is holding is where the fudging came into play.  I colored them in with my Copics and hated the way they turned out so I added a touch of Ranger Multi-Medium Matte and sprinkled on some Ranger White Embossing Powder and heated. The coolest thing happened when the glue got hot.  It bubbled up giving the ornaments the coolest texture in real life.

I encourage you to check out the class.

Online Card Classes: Holiday Style Lesson 2

Lesson 2 Classic & Elegant Cards

This is one of my favorite cards that I've ever created. I like it so much, I've not been able to send it to anyone yet.
Since the lesson was focused on elegant cards I thought I'd C.A.S.E. this one and create a holiday version.

And thus this one was born.
One the original birthday card, I used a one layer approach to the stamped panel,
so I masked and blended my inks right on the panel where I stamped the silver flowers.
On the holiday card, I stamped the silver snowflakes using Silver Delicata Pigment Ink and embossed them
with Wow Clear Embossing Powder.  I then die cut a stitched circle from an MFT Dienamics set.
I used several colors of Ranger Distress Inks to color it in (Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon).
I stamped the sentiment with Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink and heat embossed again with the Wow Clear EP.
I then used my Versa Mark pad and coated the entire circle and added another layer of Wow Clear EP.
I added three snowflakes made from the glitter embossed cardstock that I had created for yesterday's project.
I used Mermaid Lagoon Ranger Distress Ink on the sides of my card base.
I added a few blue and clear gems and the card was finished.
OMGosh I love it too! Not sure I'll be able to send it anyone.
Does that happen to anyone else?
Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.

Online Card Classes: Holiday Style Lesson 1

As I told you last week at the conclusion of my StampNation CASEing Christmas series,
I am participating in

So today I'm presenting the cards I made for lesson one of this great class.

Lesson 1 Clean & Simple Cards

For this card I used Delicata Silver Pigment Ink and a mini sponge blending tool from Ranger to apply it.
I then sprinkled it with Wow clear embossing powder.
The snowflakes are from the recent Stamp of Approval Holiday Magic Box and are cut from a sheet of
glitter emboss paper that I created using Versa Mark and Stampin'Up Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.
Like in one of the lessons I created embossed and debossed lines using my trimmer and a bone folder.
I really love how simple and elegant it is.

For these next two I did the same layout just different mediums.
Both are emboss resist.  I stamped the snowflakes and sentiments with Versa Mark and then
heat embossed the top one with Ranger White Detail Embossing Powder and the bottom card with Wow Clear Embossing Powder.

For this one, I used Ranger Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken Chine, Mermaid Lagoon
and Cracked Pistachio. I used Perfect Pearls (homemade) Mist over the top
and I added some of my glitter paper snowflakes and some clear and blue bling.

For this one I finally broke out my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors for the first time.
I used 3 different colors and lots of water and blotting and flicking to create this one.
Again I added a few of my glittery snowflakes and some clear bling.
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

There is still time to check out the class and get in on the fun.

StampNation C.A.S.E-ing Christmas Class Day 5

Click on the image for more details on joining StampNation.

Today's cards are actually from Day 6 of the class,
I didn't like how my Day 5 card turned out,
so I'm not sharing it here.

This is Maureen's C.A.S.E. of Catherine's Day 5 card.
I just love the colors, so bright and cheery.

I couldn't let go of the angle thing yet. So I cut the layer at an angle and added a piece of paper that I used direct to paper technique to color with the Memento yellow that I used in the card. I used 4 Memento Ink colors (clearly non-traditional) for this one.  I popped up the larger portion of the stamped layer on fun foam and mounted the bottom section directly to the card base.  I used both the Neat & Tangled set from SOA and MFT's Bokeh Builder set.

StampNation C.A.S.E-ing Christmas Class Day 4

Click on the image for more details on joining StampNation.

Day 4 cards:
Heather North from Heather's Creative Blessings C.A.S.E.d Catherine's card.
Stunningly gorgeous card! She used a twisted inlaid die technique and glitter paper to create this amazing card.

I took the glitter and snowflakes and inlaid diecutting from Heather's card and used a little sponging and splattering.
That sponged snowflake at the bottom was my third attempt at cutting the panel and in all of them one or more snowflakes either weren't where I wanted them after I cut them or like this one it didn't cut out all the way. So I gave up and just went with it.  Some days good enough just has to be good enough.

StampNation C.A.S.E-ing Christmas Class Day 3

Click on the image for more details on joining StampNation.

Here are the cards from day 3:
Catherine C.A.S.Ed Maureen's card and this is the result.

I don't have a curved die so I went with a straight angle and repeated the stamp as Catherine did. I used the ornaments instead of wreath and I made my card monochromatic.

It's not my favorite but this one stumped me for some reason.

StampNation C.A.S.E-ing Christmas Class Day 2

Click on the image for more details on joining StampNation.

Here are the cards from day 2:
This was Maureen's C.A.S.E. of Catherine's card from yesterday.
Maureen was inspired by the colors and concept of snow.

I used the same Ranger Distress Ink colors of Dusty Concord and Broken China and I added a touch of Mermaid Lagoon around the edges.  I used the snowbank idea, but created a painted snowbank using white gesso and perfect pearls. I used the silhouette idea, but instead of houses, a forest of trees.  I misted the whole piece with perfect pearls mist and stamped the SOA greeting in Versa Fine Black Onyx ink and clear embossing powder.
I'd love to know what you think of the cards I'm creating.
Leave me a comment!
