LOAD 513 - Day 4 Greed

Today's LOAD 513 prompt was based on the motive for the crime in the game Clue.  The motive today -- Greed.


However, I didn't follow the prompt today.  Just couldn't think of anything to do, and since I have to photograph a Prom tonight, I won't be home for much longer and didn't want to miss the deadline. So instead, I created a 2 page spread of some of the senior pics that I took of my oldest daughter who will be graduating from high school in 3 weeks.  Ignore the flash point on the right side, it is not in the actual pic, just in the layout pic.  She loves horses and is going to college to be a vet tech and hopefully eventually a veterinarian.  

So without further ado, here they are.

Taylor approved the papers and lettering on this layout.  I just love the chipboard letters that spell out Senior but they didn't come with #s.  I really like the barn board paper, it goes perfectly with the pics taken at the barn.  The top right pic on the right side is my favorite one.

 Since I had a couple pics from the farm left over and this overlay I created a third page. I changed the background paper to better complement the pics. It's a little crooked but scissors will take care of that. LOL.

This page was created using an overlay from ezlaserdesigns.  When I saw it at convention I just fell in love. It made me think of Tay instantly.  She loves her cowboy boots and horses.

LOAD 513 Day 3 -- Grandma's Kitchen

Friday's prompts on LOAD 513 are all about the rooms on the Clue board.

Today's room was the kitchen. The first thing to come to mind when I found out was my grandmother and being in her kitchen in the morning and watching her make "breakfast bread," which was basically a biscuit dough that she made in her bowl of flour. She made a well in the middle of this big bowl of flour and added eggs and buttermilk and whatever other ingredients she needed and while she was mixing that up there was a cast iron skillet on the stove with bacon grease heating up.  When the pan was hot and the dough was ready, she would pour the dough into the pan and put it in the oven.  It would come out with this golden brown and crispy crust and be all soft in the middle.  It was delicious!  It was my sister and my favorite thing about going to Mam-maw and Papaw's house.  To this day, neither of us of can replicate that bread.

There was a second challenge today as well, which was to use a tool or product that you had in your stash that you hadn't used.  So I got out the heart shaped crimper, the library envelopes and the "Create your own" stickers and a couple of word brads that have been hanging around in my scrappy space for a few years and the remnants of a page kit that include gems and ribbon.

I hate using ribbon, although I own a ton, because I can never get it to lay flat. You wouldn't believe the amount of adhesives that are under those ribbons.  I use eyelets occasionally, but not enough to justify the hundreds that I own.  I haven't used a paper crimper in 10+ years but it is all on this page.

So here it is, today's layout. I hope it inspires you to use your long forgotten tools and supplies.

LOAD 513 DAY 2 Layout

Today's LOAD 513  challenge was the dagger from the game Clue.  It made me think about my dad's pocket knife, so I did a page with pics of my dad and I (and my sister). Since I couldn't find a Cricut cut of a pocket knife and I couldn't get my SCAL to work, I ended up just printing one and cutting it out.  I like the way it turned out.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow's prompt is.
