So as most of you know I'm a StampNation member and absolutely love being one.
StampNation offers weekly challenges (that never close) and great crafty inspiration and tons of video tutorials, friendships and amazing guest designers and design team members.
Well one of this month's challenges was what else but Christmas in July, but with a twist.
We were challenged to create Christmas cards with a decidedly summer pallet.
Here's the inspiration photo:

So of course I got busy and created not just one card but lots of them, using this fun color pallet. You'll see even more tomorrow. Can you create holiday cards in the heat of the summer?
Have you tried using non-traditional colors? Give it a try! You'll be surprised how much fun it is.

I hope you enjoy the hop! Don't forget to stop back tomorrow for even more holiday happiness.

I used this great Bear in Beach Chair digi stamp from our awesome hop sponsor.
I used a piece of 6x6 paper from the A Perfect Summer by Lori Whitlock paper pad by Echo Park.
I cut the curve on the bottom and added sand using my E33 Copic Marker and Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen.
I used my craft knife to go around the edge of the wave to slide my fussy cut bear behind. I used Ranger Distress Tumbled Glass Ink to darken up the sky at bit.  The sentiment is from the Perfect Partners stamp set by Raisin Boat.

 Up next is Rhonda.

Now on with today's project:

Today's card is in rememberance of my very own Yankee Doodle, my sweet father-in-law, Ron.

He was such an amazing Dad, Father-in-Law, Hubby and Grandpa.  We miss him dearly.
Happy Birthday in Heaven Dad! We love you.

Ok, now that I'm teary eyed, here is how I created this one.

I used, you guessed it, my very favorite inks, Ranger Distress Inks, to create this one.

I water colored with them, free-handing the stars and stripes design.  After they were completely dry, I used white
pigment ink and a Heidi Swapp dot stencil to create the "stars."

The sentiment is stamped with Versa Fine Black Onyx ink and heat embossed with WOW clear embossing powder.

Next up is Haidee

Now on with today's project:

I just couldn't help myself, I had to create a card that looked like it had fireworks on it.
Since I don't have any fireworks stamps, I used Gorgeous Grunge by Stampin' Up and used my new favorite stamping tool, the MISTI (given to me by my Scrapbook Secret Sister  & Card A Day Challenge Blog Design Team member Kathy).
I stamped the GG stamp 6 times using white pigment ink and let that dry overnight. I then stamped it again using Ranger Distress Inks.  After these dryed I added the black pen to simulate fireworks bursts.

The sentiment is stamped using Versa Mark ink and white embossing powder
and was re-stamped and embossed several times to get the bright white raised look.

I just love how it turned out!

Next up is Haidee

Keeping with the theme of the blog hop, I've created this Land of the Free Home of the Brave card.
I left the inside blank for now.  I have a soon to be nephew-in-law who is serving in the Army Reserves and
I think this will be a great card to send him while on deployment.

To all our men and women who have served in the past, who are currently serving...
THANK YOU for your service and without your great sacrifice
and the sacrifice of your families and spouses this nation would not be the land of freedom and opportunity that it is.

Next up is Haidee.
