StampNation Stencil Class Lesson 4

Lesson 4 is Creating your own stencil

I got out my Sizzix dies and created two stencils for this lesson.

The first one with two butterflies and the second with hexagons.

Here are the cards I made with them (so far).

Simple ink blending with Ranger Distress Inks in Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers and a simple stamped sentiment in Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink.

More ink blending with a variety of Ranger Distress Inks and a dotted background stamp stamped over the top before removing the stencils.  A sentiment from the Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection by Catherine Pooler completes the card.

No ink blending on this one.  I used the stencil and clear embossing paste then while the paste was still wet added a variety of Martha Stewart Embossing Powders.  Heat set it while the paste was still wet to get that awesome bubbly texture. Thought it looked a bit sparse so added the stencil again and used Versa Mark and Stampendous Pearl EP to add three more butterflies.
Splashed on a little blue and green Heidi Swapp mist and a little Hero Arts sentiment and called it done.

StampNation Stencil Class Lesson 3

Lesson 3 is Stamping over Stenciling

Here are my cards for the lesson.

All my stamped images are Versa Fine Black Onyx ink
and heat embossed with Wow Clear embossing powder.
I used Ranger Distress Inks for all the stenciling. Add in a little patterned paper for layering and easy cards to create.
Love this technique.

StampNation Stencil Class Lesson 2

If you missed yesterday's post explaining this series, please check it out HERE.

Lesson 2 is Masking & Sponging using stencils.

Here's the card I created using masks made from a butterfly die.

I cut the butterflies out of masking paper and applied it to my paper, sponged with Ranger Distress Inks then stenciled them.
I then used the die cuts to mask off the butterflies while I stenciled the trees.

I added the bodies with my black Copic Marker.

I'm not sure I like the results but, I'll try again.
