Tuesday Technique: Playing with Copic Markers and Vellum

Hello,

Today I'm playing with more alcohol inks, only this time it is in the form of Copic Markers. I am CASEing (Copy and Share Everything) from a card by Catherine Pooler for Stamp Nation's 4th Birthday Party.
Catherine's Card

You can find more info about Stamp Nation by clicking on the icon on the right side bar.

Now on with the technique...

I started out using Stampin' Up White Embossing Powder and Versa Mark Ink Pad to stamp and emboss flowers from the Fiskars Petals from Scratch Stamp Set on one side of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of vellum.

Vellum sheet with only the white embossing.
I like it just like this for a clean simple look.  It would look great on a colored card base.

I then turned over the vellum and used my Copic Markers to color in the flowers and the background.  I then used Adirondack Blending Solution (you could also use Copic Blending Solution)  in a spray mister to spritz the entire colored section, so that the colors would mute and blend.

This is the vellum sheet after it was colored and before the
blending solution was applied.
I cut down the vellum to 3 inches by 5.5 inches and adhered it to my card base using liquid glue only at the top where the ribbon would hide it.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder called Flower Rings on my card base.

I used a green dotted ribbon from my stash to finish off the card.

Hope you like the results of this technique and that you'll give it a try. You can use any brand of alcohol markers to color the back of the vellum.  You might even try plain old rubbing alcohol to blend instead of the blending solution.  Experiment and share what you come up with.  I'd love to see your cards. Remember that you can upload them to the Flickr group HERE.

Who Inspires You...More of the Papercrafters Who Inspire Me

Last Monday, I shared with you four of my favorite papercrafters who inspire me on a daily basis.  This week, I'm going to share three more with you.  Hopefully you visited the blogs and YouTube channels of all the ladies I mentioned last week and got a huge dose of inspiration and your crafting mojo is in high gear.

First for today, is Amy Rysavy at http://prairiepaperandink.typepad.com/ or you can find her on YouTube.
Amy is currently a design team member for Stamping Bella and  My Favorite Things.  Amy also designs some of my very favorite stamp sets and you can find them at C.C. Designs.
Amy is a wonderful card creator! Please stop by he blog or youtube channel and check her out.

Next up is Lain Ehmann from LayoutADay.com and ScrapHappy, the happiest group of scrapbookers on the Internet. Scrap Happy is a great group of scrapbookers and they have their own LOAD too.  You can also find Lain on YouTube. Lain is a scrapbooking super hero. She does a monthly FREE online scrapbooking seminar and runs the extremely popular LOAD program.  If you are interested in participating in the only public LOAD (Layout A Day) for 2015 click on the link on the right side bar. Last for today is Tiffany Spaulding from http://thescraprack.easystorecreator.com. You can also find her on YouTube or on LiveStream.  Tiffany is a organizing genius. She creates products that make your crafting life and life in general so much better.   Not only do I own tons of her creations, I've participated in her Get Organized Challenge several times. There is a new challenge starting on Tuesday, January 27th and the best part is it is FREE and you do not have to own Tiffany's products to participate. She shows you how to use what you have to get your crafty horde under control and usable. I highly encourage you to check it out. I've met some of my best crafting buddies through Tiffany's challenge (including Alicia, who I highlighted last Monday).
Well that's it for today.  Check these ladies out and hopefully you'll be filled with inspiration and will get your organization on too.
